Required 20880 (remote):
  • Experience with Leading engineering teams and providing oversight for major energy infrastructure projects (11+ years).
  • Experience with Planning, organizing, and managing engineering projects with advanced knowledge application, balancing cost, reliability, and performance.
  • Experience with Supervising a team of engineers and overseeing design development, permitting, and compliance for energy infrastructure.
  • Experience with Detailed technical assessments, engineering design reviews, and compliance verifications for power delivery projects.
  • Experience with Bridging the gap between conceptual engineering and field execution, ensuring best practices are applied throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering.

Preferred 20880 (remote):
  • Experience with Engineering in power, energy, data center, or industrial infrastructure projects (5+ years).
  • Experience with Power system fundamentals: one-line diagrams, protection and controls, grounding, arc flash, and interconnection.
  • Experience with Reviewing and coordinating engineering deliverables with external design firms or Engineers of Record (EORs).
  • Experience with Validating software-generated engineering results against accepted calculations.
  • Professional Engineering (PE).
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (or related field).

Responsibilities 20880 (remote):
  • Perform engineering assignments ranging from limited scope and complexity to advanced engineering projects requiring expertise in multiple disciplines.
  • Assist with project management, negotiations, performance tracking and reporting.
  • Plan, organize, and manage engineering projects, ensuring regulatory compliance, and leading technical teams.
  • Engage in decision-making, technical analysis, project coordination, and engineering oversight, with a focus on utility-scale solar, BESS, and power plant operations.
  • Work as an extension of the engineering team, ensuring designs meet project specifications, safety standards, and long-term performance and reliability goals.
  • Review one-line diagrams, equipment specifications, electrical calculations, design drawings, and technical studies for accuracy, completeness, and constructability for utility-scale BESS and other inverter-based resource projects.
  • Support engineering activities involving batteries, power conversion systems and inverters, transformers, switchgear, cables, grounding, protection, controls, and auxiliary power systems, and support their technical evaluation.

Required 20879 (onsite):
    • Bachelor's or master’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related field.

20879 is onsite:
100% of the time at the Client's site. No telecommuting or remote work. This is a non-negotiable requirement from the client. Only candidates able to relocate as required should apply to avoid removal from future consideration.

Preferred 20879 (onsite):
    • Availability to work 100% of the time at the Client's site in Juno Beach, FL (required);
    • Experience with Utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) sizing and optimization, including AC/DC sizing, degradation, system losses, augmentation/overbuild, thermal impacts, and project-specific operating requirements.
    • Experience with Alternative chemistry technologies, such as flow battery, multi-day storage system, fuel-cell-like technologies, sodium ion battery, and supercapacitor.
    • Experience with Insulated-Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBT) and Silicon Carbide (SiC) inverters.
    • Experience with Energy storage industry with demonstrated relationships with major and emerging battery and/or Power Conversion System (PCS) vendors.
    • Experience with Applying Artificial Intelligence (AI), automation, programming, or advanced data-analysis tools to engineering problems.
    • Experience with Developing engineering tools using Excel/Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), Python, Power BI, low-code platforms, or AI tools.
    • Experience with Document and folder organization for easy access, retrieval, and database tracking.
    • Experience with Project management.

Responsibilities 20879 (onsite):
 
    • Support the lead Subject Matter Expert (SME) for utility-scale BESS sizing, providing technical leadership on sizing methodology, assumptions, optimization, and project-specific sizing decisions.
    • Develop and optimize end-to-end BESS sizing from the point of interconnection through GSU/substation, PCS/inverters, DC system, and battery, accounting for system losses, degradation, augmentation/overbuild strategies, temperature, operating constraints, and contractual requirements.
    • Own and continuously improve BESS sizing methodologies, calculators, assumptions, and technical guidance to ensure consistent and accurate sizing across projects.
    • Organize and maintain a clear tracking record of sizing assumptions, inputs, decisions, and results from early-stage development through project execution.
    • Review project-specific sizing results, identify optimization opportunities and technical risks, and provide sizing recommendations to Engineering, Development, Supply Chain, and project teams.
    • Fully own and maintain the sizing tools to ensure the latest BESS and PCS equipment ratings are incorporated in the sizing database.
    • Support the lead SME to assess and evaluate new and existing battery technologies and their applicability to utility-scale systems.
