Cloud Data Migration Engineer, Oracle, AWS (hybrid)
Cloud Data Migration Engineer, Oracle, AWS (Hybrid) - Austin, TX

Type: Temporary Project
Estimated Duration: 12 months with possible extensions
Work Setting: Hybrid (2 days per week onsite)

Required:
• Availability to work 2 days per week at the Client's site in Austin, TX.
• Experience with Information Technology (IT), supporting the design, development, deployment, or delivery of technology solutions (8+ years).
• Experience with AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) to migrate data from Oracle to AWS (8+ years).
• Experience with Batch and real-time data ingestion, including full loads, Change Data Capture (CDC), and streaming architectures (8+ years).
• Experience with AWS cloud services, specifically designing and implementing infrastructure and networking (VPC, subnets, security groups, routing) (8+ years).
• Experience with Core AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, Lambda) and infrastructure-as-code tools (CloudFormation or Terraform) (8+ years).
• Experience with ETL/ELT processes and data integration methodologies in cloud migration projects (8+ years).
• Experience with Scripting and automation using Python, Bash, or PowerShell (8+ years).
• Experience with Configuring and managing cloud network security, including VPNs, Direct Connect, and security groups (8+ years).
• Experience with Monitoring and logging tools (AWS CloudWatch, CloudTrail) (8+ years).
• Experience with Developing data migration and cutover plans, including rollback strategies and minimizing downtime (8+ years).
• Experience with Documenting technical designs and migration runbooks (8+ years).
• Experience with Hybrid cloud/on-premises connectivity and legacy system modernization (8+ years).
Preferred:
• Experience with Working in public sector or state government environments (1+ years).
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified Database - Specialty.
Responsibilities:
• Understand business objectives and problems, identify alternative solutions, and perform studies and cost/benefit analysis of alternatives.
• Analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or to improve existing computer systems.
• Confer with personnel of organizational units involved to analyze current operational procedures, identify problems, and learn specific input and output requirements.
• Write detailed descriptions of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer programs.
• Review computer system capabilities, specifications, and scheduling limitations to determine if requested program or program change is possible within existing systems.
• Migrate Oracle workloads to AWS using AWS DMS, supporting full-load, CDC, and real-time streaming data migration architectures.
• Modernize legacy on-premises systems in hybrid cloud environments.
