Healthcare Data Analyst (onsite)

Type: Temporary Project
Estimated Duration: 12+ months with possible extensions
Work Setting: 100% of the time at the Client’s site. No telecommuting or remote work. This is a non-negotiable requirement from the client.

Required:
  • Availability to work 100% of the time at the Client’s site in Tallahassee, FL (required);
  • Experience with statistical data analysis and manipulation of large datasets (3+ years);
  • Experience with relational databases (3+ years);
  • Experience with SQL (Structured Query Language) programming (3+ years);
  • Experience with SAS programming (3+ years);
  • Experience with data analysis tools including Word, Excel, Access, and SAS (2+ years);
  • Experience with requirement elicitation techniques to gather and document requirements from stakeholders (2+ years);
  • Experience with design and implementation of data quality improvement initiatives (2+ years);
  • Experience with medical data standards (ICD-10/SNOMED/RxNorm) (2+ years);
  • Experience with delivery of training in related fields (2+ years);
  • Bachelor’s degree in biostatistics, informatics, health services research, management information systems, or information technology

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Conduct meetings with internal and external stakeholders to gather data requirements for pre-hospital, hospital, and post-hospital stroke data;
  • Compile and analyze medical data using EMSTARS/Biospatial applications and analytical tools;
  • Analyze and identify data requirements and methodology to link EMS pre-hospital data with the Florida Stroke Registry (FSR);
  • Create datasets, queries, and reports of pre-hospital EMS data to support FSR linkage efforts;
  • Conduct quality improvement process analysis of EMS stroke data collection processes and develop recommendations for improvement;
  • Prepare reports, data summaries, and written documentation of stroke surveillance activities;
  • Provide technical assistance, outreach, presentations, and training materials to improve data collection quality.
