14554 – ActiveMQ / Artemis Migration Developer (remote) – West Palm Beach, FL

Start Date: ASAP
Type: Temporary Project
Estimated Duration: 12 months with possible extensions
Work Setting: remote, but prefer a few days onsite per week

Required:
• Availability to work 100% of the time at the Client’s site in West Palm Beach, FL (required);
• Software development experience (5+ years)
• Experience with ActiveMQ Classic (3+ years)
• Experience with ActiveMQ Artemis (2+ years)
• Experience in Java development
• Experience with CI/CD (Jenkins)
• Experience with Git version control
• Experience working in Agile teams
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field

Preferred:
• Experience with JMS and messaging protocols (AMQP/MQTT)

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Migrate messaging configurations, queues, topics, and integrations from ActiveMQ Classic to Artemis
• Work with Dev Team to update and refactor Java client applications for Artemis compatibility
• Validate message flow performance, reliability, and stability
• Collaborate with IT and Hydro teams across the full SDLC
• Provide weekly status updates and documentation of work completed
• Support a major modernization effort
• Update client applications, and ensure a smooth transition across environments
