Start Date: ASAP
Type: Temporary Project
Estimated Duration: 12+ months with possible extensions
Work Setting: Hybrid.

Required:
• Experience with Enterprise Architecture (large, complex environments), (15+ years);
• Experience with IT Infrastructure Architecture (on-prem and hybrid), (12+ months);
• Experience with Cybersecurity Architecture (defensive, enterprise), (10+ years);
• Experience with Technical Design Documentation and Decision Artifacts (10+ years);
• Experience with Architecture Governance / Review Boards (8+ years).

Preferred:
• Experience in Executive technical communication and briefing (10+ years);
• Experience with Security telemetry and SIEM architecture (8+ years);
• Experience with Cloud and virtualization platforms (hybrid) (8+ years);
• Experience with Network visibility and detection architecture (7+ years);
• Experience with NIST-aligned risk management and security frameworks (7+ years);

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Lead statewide, multi‑domain architecture efforts spanning cybersecurity platforms, security telemetry, SIEM, network visibility, hybrid infrastructure, integration patterns, and resilience capabilities across multiple participating agencies.
• Make and document high‑consequence architecture decisions that directly affect detection coverage, evidentiary integrity, operational continuity, and incident response readiness across critical infrastructure environments.
• Establish and operate architecture governance mechanisms, adjudicating risk tradeoffs, resolving cross‑organizational conflicts, and preventing architectural debt in fast‑moving, high‑risk environments.
• Provide expert‑level technical leadership across security telemetry pipelines, SIEM architectures, network detection systems, cloud and virtualization platforms, and automation/integration tooling, including hands‑on validation with engineering teams.
• Define enterprise‑level architecture standards, decision artifacts, and technical design documentation that guide long‑term interoperability, sustainability, and compliance with NIST‑aligned frameworks.
• Support high‑value procurements and vendor evaluations by shaping requirements, assessing architectural risks, and ensuring selected solutions align with statewide security, resilience, and integration objectives.
• Partner with executive leadership to communicate architectural strategy, brief on risks and tradeoffs, and guide agencies toward cohesive, defensible, and future‑ready cybersecurity and infrastructure architectures.
