Senior Accountant (onsite)

Start Date: ASAP
Type: Temporary Project
Estimated Duration: 12+ months with possible extensions
Work Setting: 100% of the time at the Client’s site. No telecommuting or remote work. This is a non-negotiable requirement from the client.
Only candidates able to relocate as required should apply to avoid removal from future consideration.

Required:
• Availability to work 100% of the time at the Client’s site in Houston, TX (required);
• Accounting experience (5+ years);
• Experience with GAAP, SEC regulations, and internal controls/SOX compliance [5+ years];
• Experience with SAP and Excalibur for journal entries and financial reporting [5+ years];
• Experience with revenue accounting, including recording operated and non-operated revenue across multiple products [5+ years];
• Experience with account reconciliations, including intercompany balances and accrual-to-actual variance analysis [5+ years];
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business (required);

Preferred:
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA;
• Experience with oil and gas industry accounting;
• Experience with acquisition and divestiture transactions;
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification;
• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance;

Responsibilities:
Record operated and non-operated revenue across all products and ensure accurate, timely posting of monthly revenue entries;

Prepare and process monthly journal entries, cash entries, reclassifications, and reverse/rebook entries in SAP and Excalibur;
Complete and review monthly revenue reconciliations and perform quarterly reconciliations between Excalibur and SAP;
Analyze accrual-to-actual variances, investigate discrepancies, and conduct financial analysis to validate monthly entries;
Analyze and reconcile intercompany account balances and assist with owner inquiries including detailed reconciliations and issue resolution;
Maintain and apply GAAP, SEC regulations, and related company policies; assure accounting integrity through implementation of appropriate internal controls;
Coordinate and respond to internal and external audit requests; collaborate with internal departments and non-operated partners to obtain revenue data and resolve issues;
