14332– Senior Power System Planning Engineer (onsite) – Juno Beach, FL

Estimated Duration: 10 months with possible extensions
Work Setting: 100% of the time at the Client’s site. No telecommuting or remote work.
Required:
• Availability to work 100% of the time at the Client’s site in Juno Beach, FL (required);
• Experience with power system analysis tools including PSS/E, PSCAD, Aspen, TSAT, and GE PSLF software;
• Experience with power flow, stability, voltage regulation, reactive support, and short-circuit analysis;
• Experience creating and validating PSSE, PSLF, and PSCAD models for solar, wind, and battery energy storage projects;
• Experience with interconnection procedures and regional modeling requirements defined by ISO’s/Utilities/TOs across the U.S.;
• Experience performing steady-state and dynamic power system analyses for renewable generation facilities;
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Preferred:
• Experience with power system analysis, steady-state and dynamic modeling, generation and transmission planning for Wind, Solar, Battery Energy Storage, stand-alone transmission and substation projects;
• Experience with technical analysis of disturbances;
• Experience with implementation of regulatory reliability standards;
• Experience with coordination of reliability and economic studies with the Regional Transmission Operator;
• Experience with new IBR standards such as IEEE 2800 and Grid-Forming IBR requirements;
• Experience developing or enhancing software/tools to support power system reliability and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
• Provide technical expertise to all aspects of generation interconnection processes and operational requirements.
• Work closely with ISO’s/Utilities/Regulatory agencies to manage interconnection processes for NextEra facilities.
• Create and validate PSSE, PSLF, and PSCAD models for solar, wind and battery projects.
• Perform and review steady state, dynamic, short circuit and other power system analyses for renewable facilities.
• Monitor dynamically changing interconnection requirements from regional agencies and advise stakeholders on expected impacts.
• Perform assessment for compliance with new IBR standards such as IEEE 2800, Grid Forming IBR and other similar requirements.
• Develop software tools that enhance system reliability and organizational efficiency
