Work Setting: Remote within Florida preferred. Travel to Juno Beach will be required periodically, with more frequent visits during the first 3–6 months. Up to 25% travel may be required.

Required:
• Engineering experience (5+ years)
• Experience managing third-party engineering contractors responsible for developing engineering design packages for energy or infrastructure projects
• Experience supporting engineering design and construction of utility-scale energy infrastructure projects
• Experience performing engineering work across multiple disciplines (electrical, structural, civil, or materials engineering)
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering. Discipline can be electrical, civil, mechanical, aerospace, or chemical.
Preferred:
• Experience with engineering and project management on utility-scale solar projects
• Experience with DG/commercial solar, wind, BESS, combined cycle, nuclear, hydrogen, substation, or transmission projects
• Experience applying value engineering principles to balance reliability, cost, and performance on large capital projects
• Experience outside of the power industry (aerospace, civil/stormwater, etc)
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Manage third-party engineering contractors responsible for developing engineering design packages for solar projects.
• Support engineering activities across the full project lifecycle from concept development through construction and final commissioning.
• Coordinate engineering efforts with internal teams and external stakeholders including environmental, procurement, transmission services, and project management.
• Conduct technical analysis, engineering reviews, and project coordination for utility-scale solar and related energy infrastructure projects.
• Apply value engineering principles to optimize reliability, cost, and performance of project designs.
• Support project management activities including schedule tracking, stakeholder coordination, and engineering deliverables.
• Assist with engineering design reviews, documentation, and coordination to ensure alignment with project requirements and industry standards.

Required:
• Engineering experience, with demonstrated technical ownership on complex, externally delivered projects (5+ years);
• Experience supporting engineering or project delivery for large, multi-disciplinary projects, ideally in energy, infrastructure, or other capital intensive industries;
• Experience interpreting technical specifications and project agreement requirements, and translate them into clear, executable engineering scopes;
• Experience coordinating across cross functional internal teams (e.g., engineering, project management, procurement, development, legal, or similar) to support timely and compliant project execution;
• Experience engaging with external stakeholders such as customers, EPC contractors, vendors, or partners in technically and commercially sensitive environments;
• A valid driver’s license.

Preferred:
• Engineering or project management experience on utility scale solar projects.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Serve as the engineering lead for customer-contracted BOT solar projects, overseeing technical execution from proposal support through construction, commissioning, and warranty while ensuring compliance with contractual performance and milestone requirements;
• Lead technical input for proposals and customer negotiations, including development and refinement of technical contract documents, evaluation of customer-driven requirements, and representation of NEER in live, commercially sensitive technical discussions;
• Manage and coordinate third-party engineering and construction contractors, ensuring design and construction activities align with negotiated agreements, applicable codes, and NEER quality standards;
• Translate executed contract requirements into clear internal scopes of work, coordinating across engineering, project management, procurement, development, legal, and other stakeholders to enable compliant, timely project delivery;
• Maintain direct customer and Independent Engineer interface throughout project delivery, supporting technical reviews, responding to information requests, and guiding resolution of scope clarifications and technical disputes;
• Apply value engineering principles to balance cost, schedule, reliability, and performance across multidisciplinary systems (electrical, structural, civil, materials) without compromising contractual obligations;
• Support schedule, budget, and milestone-driven execution, identifying technical risks, tracking progress against contractual deliverables, and recommending solutions to protect payment events and minimize liquidated damages exposure.
