Type: Temporary Project
Estimated Duration: 12+ months with possible extensions
Work Setting: Remote.
Only candidates able to relocate as required should apply to avoid removal from future consideration.

Required:
• Experience in US nuclear power plants (12+ years);
• Experience with the applicable industry and nuclear standards, the nuclear industry standard design process, independent design verification, preparing stand-alone electrical calculations, preparing procurement specifications, and 10CFR50.59;
• Experience with molded case circuit breakers, motor starters, thermal overloads, low voltage power breakers and switchgear, medium voltage power breakers and switchgear, industrial battery chargers, industrial inverters or UPS, 125Vdc battery systems, Emergency Diesel Generators (EDGs), large dry type or oil filled transformers, main generators, voltage regulators, etc;
• Experience with power systems engineering, not with instrumentation and control, sensor technologies, analog or digital electronics, or cybersecurity:
• Experience with preparing or reviewing/verifying design output documents (e.g., design changes, calculations, specifications) for internally developed design modifications.

Preferred:
• Experience with ladder logic, electrical schematics, NSCA/safe shutdown analysis (Appendix R/NFPA 805), power systems analysis (load flow, short circuit analysis, arc flash, coordination studies) as well as computational tools such as ETAP or EDISON;
• Experience as a cognizant/oversight engineer or engineering project management;
• Experience with Florida Power & Light nuclear power plants (Seabrook, Point Beach, St Lucie, Turkey Point).

Responsibilities:
• Serve as the technical interface with engineering firms during project development, ensuring designs align with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and nuclear design processes.
• Prepare, review, and verify electrical engineering design output documents—including design changes, calculations, and specifications—for internally developed design modifications.
• Apply nuclear industry standards, 10CFR50.59 requirements, and independent design verification practices to ensure safe, compliant, and highquality engineering deliverables.
• Provide technical expertise on electrical distribution equipment and systems, including LV/MV breakers and switchgear, industrial power supplies, battery systems, EDGs, transformers, and generator systems.
• Support and perform power systems engineering activities, such as load flow, shortcircuit, arcflash, and coordination studies, using tools like ETAP or EDISON where applicable.
• Collaborate with project managers, oversight engineers, and crossfunctional stakeholders to support project execution, resolve technical issues, and maintain alignment between design intent and field implementation.
•Contribute to safeshutdown, NSCA, and electrical schematic evaluations, identifying technical risks, validating design assumptions, and ensuring compliance with nuclear operational and safety requirements.
