QA Automation Engineer (onsite)

14205 – QA Associate/Analyst (onsite) – Austin, TX
Start Date: ASAP
Type: Temporary Project
Estimated Duration: 9 months with possible extensions
Work Setting: Hybrid, 3 days remote with 2 days (Thursdays and Fridays) required to be onsite

Required:
• Availability to work 2 days per week at the Client’s site in Austin, TX (required);
• Experience/knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of software development and the full software development life cycle (SDLC), including knowledge of industry accepted software engineering practices and life cycle methods (Agile) (8+ years);
• Knowledge of the limitations and capabilities of computer systems, information technology equipment, applicable programming languages, computer hardware and software, and computer operating systems. (8+ years);
• Experience in analyzing requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria, and write test plans and test scenarios to validate that the requirements are met within the application and/or business processes. (8+ years);
• Experience analyzing software applications, defects, and business problems to draw evidence-based conclusions and devise innovative solutions (8+ years);

Preferred:
• Experience using HP Unified Functional Testing (UFT), Katalon, HP LoadRunner, SoapUI, LoadUI, Selenium HP Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), HP Product Portfolio Management (PPM), SQL, XML, and running and creating interface files and running batch (3+ years);
• Experience working together with varied levels of development, testing staff, and end-users using Agile principles and methodologies (3+ years);
• Experience in software quality assurance (manual and/or automated testing) experience using one or more of HP Unified Functional Testing (UFT), SoapUI, Selenium, HP Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), HP Product Portfolio Management (PPM), JIRA, JAMA, PLSQ (3+ years);

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts (manual and/or automated) to ensure software applications meet functional and technical requirements.
• Analyze user stories, business requirements, and acceptance criteria to design comprehensive test scenarios and validate system functionality throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Identify, document, and track software defects and issues, collaborating with developers and business analysts to ensure timely resolution and quality assurance.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with cross-functional teams (developers, testers, and end-users) to ensure alignment of testing activities with project goals and sprint deliverables.
• Perform system integration, regression, and performance testing, utilizing tools such as HP UFT, Selenium, SoapUI, or LoadRunner to validate end-to-end system behavior and performance under varying conditions.
• Analyze test results, system defects, and production issues to identify root causes, verify fixes, and recommend process or system improvements.
• Create and maintain testing documentation and reports, including test strategies, execution logs, defect summaries, and status updates, ensuring compliance with established quality standards and methodologies.
