Substation Manager (Onsite)

    Start Date: ASAP
    Type: Temporary Project
    Estimated Duration: 12+ months with possible extensions
    Work Setting: 100% of the time at the Client’s site. No telecommuting or remote work. This is a non-negotiable requirement from the client.

    Required:
    • Availability to work 100% of the time at the Client’s site in Milam County / Jones County, TX (required);
    • Experience prioritizing and enforcing safety protocols on the job site, ensuring compliance with regulations and industry standards;
    • Experience performing inspections, maintaining QA/QC documents, and auditing construction quality, ensuring adherence to standards and specifications;
    • Experience leading and managing construction, including monitoring tasks, providing feedback, and resolving conflicts;
    • Experience with electrical schematics, mechanical, civil, and steel structural drawings;
    • Experience in safety regulations and practices, including the ability to identify and mitigate hazards;
    • Experience in concrete work, flat foundations, drill piers, breaker pads, and GSU containment pits;
    • Experience in material procurement and material take-offs;
    • Experience resolving requests for information (RFI) and change orders;
    • Experience working safely near equipment energized at hazardous voltage levels;
    • Experience with MS Office (Excel, Word, Project) and potentially specialized software for substation construction.

    Responsibilities:
    • Prioritize and enforce safety protocols on the job site;
    • Reviewing projects after completion and reporting successes, lessons learned, and opportunities for improvement;
    • Promoting open communication with direct reports to enhance teamwork and report issues;
    • Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project effectiveness;
    • Maintain detailed records of construction activities, progress reports, and safety inspections;
    • Work with EPC to resolve RFIs and change orders;
    • Support commissioning efforts through energization.
