Work Setting: 100% of the time at the Client’s site. No telecommuting or remote work. This is a non-negotiable requirement from the client.
Required:
• Availability to work 100% of the time at the Client’s site in Tallahassee, FL (required);
• Experience with data management, metadata management, data governance, or information management (10-15 years);
• Experience in senior leadership roles overseeing data management, analytics, and governance initiatives, preferably in a large and complex organization;
• Experience with data governance principles, data architecture, data analytics, and emerging technologies in data management and analytics.
Preferred:
• Experience in data management, metadata management, data governance, or information management in a scientific, governmental, or environmental context;
• Experience with environmental science concepts, regulations, and challenges;
• Experience with water quality, air quality, waste management, land conservation, or public recreation data.
Responsibilities:
• Revitalize and implement a comprehensive data and analytics strategy to align with department objectives;
• Establish and enforce data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data integrity, quality, privacy, and security;
• Oversee the design, development, and optimization of scalable data architectures and infrastructure;
• Lead the development and deployment of advanced analytics and data science capabilities to derive actionable insights;
• Own the data literacy program by developing curricula and leading training sessions for staff;
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to promote data-driven decision-making;
• Lead and mentor a high-performing data and analytics team, providing guidance and professional development opportunities.
