SQL Database Administrator (onsite)

Type: Temporary Project
Estimated Duration: 9 months with possible extensions
Work Setting: 100% of the time at the Client’s site. No telecommuting or remote work. This is a non-negotiable requirement from the client

Required:
• Availability to work 100% of the time at the Client’s site in Tallahassee, FL (required);
• Experience in SQL Server database administration (8-12 years)
• Experience as a SQL developer
• Experience in creating stored procedures, views, and functions
• Experience in supporting SQL Server data replication, high availability, and validation
• Experience with SQL Server software installation, patching, and upgrading.
• Experience in effectively diagnose, isolate, and resolve complex problems pertaining to server and data infrastructure
• Experience in writingT- SQL, Stored Procedures, Functions, and Database Triggers
• Experience with Tuning SQL and T-SQL queries for performance, index maintenance and implementation, and proactively identify performance bottlenecks while providing sound solutions
• Experience with Windows and PowerShell scripting
• Experience in logical and physical database design and data models
• Experience with software development lifecycle process
• Experience with SQL Server backup/recovery technologies and processes
• Experience with SQL Server Replication practices and processes
• Experience with SQL Server Clusters and Failover (AG clusters and regular Failover clusters) methodologies
• Experience with System/Application/Database development, design and/or administration
• Experience in developing in T-SQL or PL/SQL languages
• Experience assisting application/web development teams and business area customers in the design, deployment, and development of solutions

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Provide support, on-going maintenance, and required modifications to database applications already in production.
• Work with agency customers to develop and implement a process to receive data and disperse it to the appropriate internal applications, adhering to all State of Florida security guidelines.
• Assist in designing the Database Architecture and Strategic plan for agency customers.
• Provide research and analytical services for new projects as they emerge.
• Develop protocol for implementing existing and newly developed Database applications within the existing environment.
• Implement changes to existing and newly-developed Database applications when authorized and in accordance with Agency Change Management/Service Request procedures.
• Create technical documentation associated with projects upon request
