13981 - BESS Commissioning Manager (remote, travel up to 75%) – Juno Beach, FL

Estimated Duration: 12 months with possible extensions
Work Setting: US Travel and stay at project locations.Travel up to 75%. Other work is remote in supporting teams in remote SCADA monitoring and Commissioning portfolio management.
Required:
• Experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems installation and startup
• Experience with technical, performance, and integration of Li-Ion batteries as part of ESS
• Experience with Commissioning process creation
• Experience with Substation testing and startup
• Experience with Protection and Controls implementation and troubleshooting
• Experience with containerized systems, skids, controllers/SCADA, transformers, combiners •
• Experience with quality control inspections and punch-list management
• Experience with DC systems (0-2,000Vdc) and AC systems (480V-34.5kV)
• Experience with control and SCADA systems and troubleshooting
• Experience troubleshooting programmable logic controllers (PLC) and industrial electronic equipment (protection relays, inverters, BMS, etc.).
• Experience organizing and strategizing schedules and plans
• Experience with Electrical Code, means and methods
Responsibilities:
• Participate in safety programs, audits, and ensure compliance with company and industry standards;
• Perform quality control inspections, system walkdowns, and maintain punch-lists to verify installation, mechanical completion, and adherence to specifications;
• Develop, manage, and execute energization and testing plans, including substation, metering, ISO/GIA/PPA, and performance testing;
• Oversee EPC, OEM, and commissioning procedures, ensuring alignment with engineering, contractual, and regulatory requirements;
• Troubleshoot and resolve commissioning anomalies, serving as the owner’s SME representative throughout the project lifecycle;
• Prepare, review, and report on project documentation, progress indicators, and recovery plans, ensuring proper closeout;
• Collaborate with internal teams, management committees, and third parties to coordinate testing, align requirements, and ensure successful project execution, while meeting physical job demands such as lifting up to 20 lbs, prolonged standing, walking uneven terrain, and working in varied weather conditions.
