13954 - Software Engineer – BESS Sizing (onsite) – Juno Beach, FL

Estimated Duration: 12 months with possible extensions.
Work Setting: Full-time in office or hybrid
Required:
• Availability to work Full-time in office at the Client’s site in Juno Beach, FL or hybrid;
• Experience in software development, with a focus on designing and building complex applications;
• Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, or similar;
• Experience using and transitioning formulas from Excel to a software environment;
• Experience in database management and data organization;
• Experience in battery energy storage systems and their performance characteristics;
• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred:
• Experience in Battery Energy Storage and Utility;
• Experience in utility-scale battery energy storage projects;
• Experience with energy modeling software and tools;
• Experience in power systems and grid integration of energy storage;
• Experience with web development frameworks and technologies.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain a robust software solution for sizing utility-scale battery energy storage systems
• Organize and manage the battery performance database to ensure accurate and up-to-date information
• Improve the existing formulas and mathematical models used in Excel for sizing calculations, ensuring efficiency and accuracy
• Transition the existing Excel-based sizing tool to a dedicated software environment
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as battery engineering, construction, estimation, supply chain, data analytics and operations team to gather requirements, develop features, and ensure seamless integration of the software
• Conduct thorough testing and validation of the software to ensure reliability and accuracy of calculations
• Provide training and support to users on how to input data and utilize the software efficiently
