Lead Developer, Legacy Applications (remote)

Start Date: ASAP
Type: Temporary Project
Estimated Duration: 12 months with possible extensions
Work Setting: Remote option (onsite to onboard required)

Required:
Experience as a lead developer or development manager (7+ years);
Experience with development technologies including COBOL, CA Gen, Classic ASP, DB2 for z/OS or Oracle databases or similar relational databases (5+ years);
Experience with terminology and concepts of DB2 for z/OS or Oracle databases or similar relational databases, including SQL proficiency;
Experience with Computer Associates’ CA Gen workstation toolset for web server, online and batch procedures;
Experience with Computer Associates’ CA Gen Com Proxy service and COBOL;
Experience with Active Server Pages (Classic ASP) web page development languages VB and J-script;
Experience with IBM Z-Server, CICS, JCL, and COBOL;
Experience with development and maintenance of software systems dealing with complex financial business processes;
Experience conducting complex systems analysis and translating user requirements into business solutions;

Preferred:
Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio/.Net.

Responsibilities:
Works as a developer and subject matter expert for applications dealing with complex financial business processes on large cross-functional application projects, ensuring that robust and scalable solutions are implemented;
Provides guidance and oversight to quality assurance on all new code from inception through integration, staging and production environments;
Provides hands-on support to peers and mentors others;
Identifies, analyzes and resolves problems and issues using troubleshooting tools and techniques as well as teamwork;
Works with team toward continuous improvement; may include design, definition of roadmaps, standardization of processes and methodologies; collaborates with other developers and architects to drive guidelines, methodologies, and documentation;
Works in partnership with distributed cross-functional teams to ensure all aspects of the project is communicated, supported and delivered to the highest standards;
Develops and applies knowledge of trends, relevant software development technologies and methodologies.
