Systems Administrator (onsite)

Start Date: ASAP
Type: Temporary Project
Estimated Duration: 12+ months with possible extensions
Work Setting: Onsite. Flexibility to work hours between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM, after hours, weekends, and either on a rotation or as part of a regular and on-call work schedule. The candidate must reside in Tallahassee, or the surrounding area, and report in office 5 days a week.


Required:
• Availability to work at the Client’s site in Tallahassee, FL (required);
• Experience with Server 2012 R2, 2016, 2019, and 2022 (2–3 years);
• Experience in IIS Administration (2–3 years);
• Experience with network communications, including TCP/IP and DNS Samba/CIFS file sharing and NTFS permissions (2–3 years);
• IT work experience in infrastructure/network environments in systems operations, support, maintenance, and administration (3–5 years);
• Experience in information systems engineering or another related field (5–8 years);
• Experience with Linux (Redhat and Ubuntu);
• Experience with Microsoft 365 services;
• Experience with Microsoft Power Platform;
• Experience with Microsoft Azure Services;
• Experience with Microsoft Server products;
• Valid driver’s license with no alcohol/drug-related driving offenses within the previous five years and/or the license is not currently suspended or restricted related to hours of driving or reason for driving.

Preferred:
• Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud systems (2–3 years);
• Experience with other cloud providers, such as AWS or GCP (2–3 years);
• Experience in the administration of Microsoft software (2–3 years);
• Experience supporting middleware such as API Management, IT Service Automation tools, and batch job services (3–5 years).

Responsibilities:
• Support and expand Client’s infrastructure;
• Coordinate server configuration and administration with multiple parties;
• Make recommendations for future server and software upgrades;
• Monitor systems and applications to ensure security, availability, and performance;
• Establish systems by evaluating network performance issues, including availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency; planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment; defining network policies and procedures; establishing connections and firewalls;
• Maintain network and systems performance by performing systems monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting systems and application problems; escalating problems to vendor;
• Build and manage relationships in a matrixed environment;
Find opportunities to refactor solutions to obtain better performance, cost, and efficiency;
• Create and manage Azure DevOps projects, git repositories, and pipelines;
• Oversee and configure Azure DevOps organizational settings;
Prolonged periods of sitting with intermittent standing or walking; ability to operate a computer for extended periods.
