13641 – Lead Data Governance Specialist (hybrid) – Tallahassee, FL

Type: Temporary Project
Estimated Duration: 12 months with possible extensions
Work Setting: a balanced hybrid approach to telework that combines the flexibility of remote work with the collaborative benefits of in-person engagement.
Required:
• Availability to work occasionally at the Client’s site in Tallahassee, FL (required);
• Experience in implementing/administering data governance tools (4 years);
• Experience in data management, governance, or stewardship roles (4 years);
• Experience in writing enterprise-level data-related policies (3 years);
• Experience conducting root cause analysis and resolving data quality issues (3 years);
• Experience in verbal/written communication for project progress and technical concepts (3 years);
• Experience creating detailed documentation, including data flow diagrams, guidebooks, and strategic roadmaps (3 years);
• A four-year degree in business, public health administration, computer science, or analytics.
Alternatively, a Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) certification.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Facilitate Data Steward Orientation and Training: Conduct orientation sessions for data stewards and quarterly training workshops to promote a data-driven culture;
• Develop and Review Policies: Assist in drafting and reviewing data governance policies to ensure alignment with organizational objectives;
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with stakeholders to address data requirements, resolve issues, and support data-driven decision-making;
• Tool Configuration and Integration: Define business rules, configure tools, and coordinate installation, testing, and integration with existing systems;
• Metadata and Data Quality Management: Maintain metadata repositories, ensure comprehensive cataloging, and define processes for capturing data lineage and managing data quality;
• Performance Monitoring: Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor the effectiveness and impact of data governance initiatives;
• Innovation and Reporting: Implement pilot projects to test governance processes, foster innovation through research, and prepare detailed monthly activity reports while ensuring compliance with security policies.
