12713 – Network Architect (remote option)– Tallahassee, FL

Work Setting: The work may be conducted remotely
Required:
• IT work experience in infrastructure/network environments performing network planning, architecture design, engineering (hardware and software), and optimization (7-10 years);
• Experience working in a large (2,500 user or more) enterprise network environment;
• Experience as a lead technician with the responsibility of cross-training team members;
• Experience deploying, troubleshooting, and maintaining the following technologies: Aruba ClearPass and NAC switch configuration, SD-WAN, Prisma Access, Palo Alto firewalls, Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) Routing, Microsoft (MS) Azure routing and network security groups (NSG), and IPsec Tunnels;
• Experience designing and deploying NAC via Aruba ClearPass;
• Experience with managing Aruba Airwave;
• Experience with command-line configuration with Cisco, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) Aruba, and Linux;
• Experience in programming in Python and PowerShell scripting.
Preferred:
• Experience solving computer problems over the phone and troubleshooting personal computer
(PC) and peripheral-related problems;
• Experience with Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) protocols;
• Experience with installing and troubleshooting 3270 emulation software;
• Experience installing, diagnosing, and repairing hardware, including hard drives, random access memory (RAM), processors, CD-RWs, DVD-RW’s, multimedia kits, and other peripherals;
• Experience using imaging software for deploying desktop PCs;
• Experience providing Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) phone support;
• Experience providing Virtual Private Network (VPN) client support;
• Experience working for a criminal justice agency;
• Experience with IT standards in a criminal justice environment;
• Experience supporting end users in a criminal justice environment.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Architect and deploy Network Access Control (NAC) with Aruba ClearPass and Aruba switching;
• Architect and deploy the software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN) technologies (Palo Alto);
• Architect and deploy Palo Alto Prisma Access;
• Identify automation opportunities and ways to optimize the operation, such as documentation and monitoring adjustments;
• Develop and maintain technical specifications, standards, procedures, and systems documentation;
• Work with OIT to perform upgrades and configuration changes; and
• Research and recommend appropriate technical solutions to meet functional requirements
