12464 – Principal Substation Engineer (remote with some travel) – Juno Beach, FL

Type: Temporary Project
Estimated Duration: 12 months with possible extensions
Work Setting: Remote, Some travel required within North America.
Required:
• Experience with the design and engineering of High Voltage substation/switchyard projects (7+ years)
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil/Structural Engineering
Preferred:
• Experience with Project Engineering and/or Project Management
• PMP and/or P.E. in related discipline
• Proficiency with standard industry tools such as PLSCADD, Microsoft products, Auto-CAD, Primavera and other software
Responsibilities (:
• Manage substation projects from inception through construction and commissioning, ensuring alignment with project goals.
• Collaborate with early-stage project managers and development teams to define engineering requirements and scopes.
• Oversee external engineers of record, providing training, due diligence, and technical guidance for substation projects.
• Develop scopes of work, secure bids, and award contracts for engineering consulting services.
• Coordinate site development, including engineering updates, data collection, and permit acquisition for switchyard projects.
• Source and contract geotechnical, survey, engineering, and construction services, supporting cost estimation efforts.
• Provide administrative and technical support to substation project engineers and managers, ensuring timely completion of deliverables.
