12464 – Principal Substation Engineer/ Substation Project Engineer (remote with some travel) – Juno Beach, FL
Start Date: ASAP Type: Temporary Project Estimated Duration:12 months with possible extensions Work Setting: 100% of the time at the Client’s site. No telecommuting or remote work. This is a non-negotiable requirement from the client.
Required: • Experience in substation design engineering High Voltage substation/switchyard projects. (7+ years);
• Project Engineering /or Project Management experience with a strong bias for action;
• Experience with industry codes standards including IEEE, NESC, ASCE, and compliance with ISO and Transmission Owner requirements;
• Experience in coordinating with multiple stakeholders, including external engineers, vendors, and project teams to ensure successful project execution;
• Expertise in developing scopes of work, securing bids, and managing contracts for engineering and construction services;
• Experience with technical compliance for all engineering deliverables and construction milestones;
• Valid driver`s license;
• Willingness to travel within North America as needed for project oversight. Preferred: PMP and/or P.E in related discipline
Responsibilities:
• Manage substation projects from early-stage development through construction and commissioning;
• Provide technical oversight to ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications;
• Secure and manage engineering resources, contracts, and consulting services;
• Coordinate with stakeholders and transmission owners to secure sites, permits, and required updates;
• Oversee material orders and budget management to minimize delays and cost overruns;
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure efficient, safe, and compliant project execution;
• Support project commissioning and regulatory compliance, including legal filings if needed.
